Thankful Reflections - Day 9

What a week - I feel like it should already be the weekend, when it's really only Wednesday. Can you relate? We have a lot going on these days, that it becomes easy to forget about the little things. The things that bring us comfort. The things we rely on and so often take for granted. The things so many people in the world are not fortunate enough to have. The things that keep us alive.

Today I want to take a moment to focus on just two of those things that I often take for granted. It might sound crazy - but it's not. Right now, in this moment, I am grateful for the ability to breathe on my own. I mentioned in an earlier post that Chuck's cousin and her husband were in a horrible accident this weekend. At this moment, Glen is still on a ventilator to assist with his breathing. Wow, something that seems so simple. Yet, it is so intricate and such a gift to be able to breathe on our own.

I am also thankful for warmth on brisk days. With a roof over our heads, warm clothes to layer on if need be, blankets to snuggle up with - we really have it made. Today, in teaching Zoe the word "cold", we put on a warm vest to keep her all snuggled up. We were grateful for warmth on a cold day.

These things may seem so trivial to comment on, but they are worthy of being noted. Today, I am thankful for the little {BIG} things in life.
